Hi there, I am losing money from my T-Mobile prepaid service because T-Mobile sends automated text messages from shortcode 2519 every month, sometimes even twice a month. I have an old $3 pay by the day plan, where I am charged only on days I use my phone. I understand that receiving a text message is considered as "using" my phone. But in my case, the phone is turned off most of the time and I even selected the option to block incomingtext messages for my line in blocking controls of my account to avoid being charged for unwanted text messages. Every day T-Mobile sends this automated message to my (switched off) phone (which I'll never receive), $3 are deducted from my prepaid balance. That drained at least $18 out of my balance so far. For a long time I was not sure whatcauses thismoney loss and suspected a fault in the prepaid billing system. Then i noticed in the activity log of line details on my account, that text messages from 12519 were sent to my number and obvisiously caused the misdetected useage of my phone (even though it was turned offduring that time and in the follwing days). That made me wonder how this can behappening, since I activated blocking all incoming text messages before. After some research I learned, that short codes cannot be blocked by this blocking control on the account. So I called customer service and it took me around 30 minutes to address this "ordeal"to the representative, until she finally understood my problem. What she suggested was explicitly blocking this short code (12519 as it appeared in my activity log), which she offered to set up for me. I agreed, so she set up the blocking filter and promised me I'll never receive any messages from this short code again. Problem solved, so I thought. Now I just lost another $3 for (never) receiving a text message from the same short code again which should be blocked. Further research about the origin of short code 12519 did not lead to anything. Then I finally found an old, archived text message on my phone from short code 2519, which I received last year wihle the phone was switched on at thetime the message was sent. Funny enough this is just a reminder message from T-Mobile saying"T-Mobile: For further information about blocking third-party charges and ways to prevent fraud you can visit t-mo.co/Blocking". Now I can see it all… 12519, as displayed in the lineactivity log on my account was wrong…it should be 2519 (the leading 1 in the activiy log is perhaps the country code for the U.S.). With research into 2519 I found out, that thisis a T-Mobile short code for T-Mobile campaigns. It is ridiculous, that an unwanted message from T-Mobile telling me ybout options to prevent charges from third parties costs me a lot of money, coming not from a third party but from T-Mobile itself. I think if they send those messages without signing up to it they should count as free messages and not count towards the useage of my phone and cost $3 each time. One could think they do that on purpose to push people out of the old prepaid day plans. So how can I get rid of those messages, that are sent regularly to my number by T-Mobile and cost me a lot of money. I doubt that customer service would block short code 2519 if I ask them to, because it is an internal T-Mobile code. Maybe sending STOP to that short code could help, but trying this will cost me abother $3 with no guarantee it'll work. There should be some way to get rid of all messages from any of the numerous T-Mobile campaign short codes. Any suggestions, anyone? I just switched to T-Mobile from AT&T few weeks ago. And, now I am not getting the account verification code from AMEX bank to my phone number. The code comes from the number 48267. 48267 was working fine just a few weeks ago when I was with AT&T. However, 48267 is not working now. (Few other bank account verification codes are working OK. The problem seems to be with this number 48267 for now.) Sent "Help" to 48267 many times without getting a reply. I see similar issues with T-Mobile customers in different forums. Ok I have been seeing a lot of 52927 shortcode into our bill statement under my daughters phone text messagesand I wonder wherecan you find the owner or business owner or whoever owns that shortcode number. I tried to text it and it goes through but not replying anything back. If this is true then this is absolutely preposterous and needs to be fixed ASAP. When I signed up for a DIGITS number, I was told that it could be used exactly the same way 100% as my primary number on my phone. Since switching to T-mobile I've stopped receiveingTwo-factor authenticationcodes from my European bank, which means I can't log into my bank account anymore! I've talked to bank and T-mobile, turned off any blocking, cleaned caches and messages to no avail. The bank says the messages are going out and there's nothing they can do, T-mob says short codes are country specific and I should be lucky I've received them so far smh. November 2022 this worked fineand for years I used it. Now I may get one code in a day or two and no more. I talked to support and opened a case ticket. I tried twitter as well and they said its not supposed to work based on CTIA standards. This is strange since it worked fine for years and started to have issues this year. I learned today that T Mobile only allows one phone on an account to receive short code verification texts. My wife and I are on a family plan with my son. All of us work so this is quite inconvenient. Do other carriers limit access to short code verification texts? We would like to switch to another carrier. You can reference ticket #63557315 to see what's been done so far . No issues with phone calls and I seem to be getting regular SMS and MMS. This has been going on for almost 2 weeks. There is no see pam block or line block on my line. I can't even access my account online it says my number is invalid. I had T-mobile support working with me as well to resolve this and it was also escalated to a higher team. Onto the actual issue. Setting up this A10e with my apps went fine until my us bank app. I never received the verification codes when I first logged in to the app despite multiple resends. tried many, many things that it could be but never fixed. two days go by with no luck. finally late last night I found that an area in the android permissions called "Special access" contained the elusive fix: FromHome screen, navigate: Settings > Apps tap the options ellipsis in upper right corner Tap Special access Tap Use Premium text message services Tap the app icon of the messaging app your phone is using by default: Choose Ask or Always allow if not already selected. Restart the phone. Initiate a verification text from the problem app or website. From here my code arrived like nothing was ever wrong.
