High-pressure Sales Call with Misinformation
I received a sales call from Sprint/T-Mobile today. The sales rep indicated that I needed to update my device immediately to avoid the upcoming service interruption in March. As I was on the phone, I searched this information, and T-Mobile is ending 3G service at the end of March. However, my 4G compatible phone will work fine after March, which was confirmed through the chat function on the app just after the sales call ended. I don't appreciate the sales representative lying to me, confirming the lie when questioned, and continuing to attempt to make sales of various products and services that I do not need. Beware of T-Mobile sales calls! Unless you have a 3G phone, you do not need to upgrade by March 2022.

that might be where the mix up came in..i think it was the S5 as an example..was released without VoLTE then down the road another S5 variant was released that DID have it….might have been the S6...i just remember back when it happened thinking “yup that’ll tick a few people off”.

My phone does have VoLTE capabilities. It's a newer Samsung, just not 5G compatible. The sales rep was trying to make a sale at any cost, even if she had to lie in order to get me to upgrade immediately. I recently purchased the phone, so they're no longer making that lease money. I'm looking for a new carrier as soon as my other lease ends this month, because I haven't been happy with the switch from Sprint to T-Mobile.

unless your phone has VoLTE capabilities shutting down 3G will affect the device..im guessing it has VoLTE since they were saying it’ll be compatible? if it isnt VoLTE capable then you can probably guess that voice/regular texts goes over 3G.
