Visual voicemail / dual sim

I am using dual sim and while I was on my pixel 6 pro, I was able to use visual voicemail within the google phone app and I could choose to see voicemails from either sim card.

I recently switched to Samsung s22 ultra and not only does voicemail not work within the google phone app, I am forced to use the standalone t-mobile visual voicemail app that doesn’t support dual sim, so I can only see voicemails from the default sim.

How can I get this issue escalated to be looked into?

I also rely on dual-SIM with my s23 Ultra.  Samsung's dialer is pretty much way behind every other out there.  Installing the Google Dialer doesn't get native Visual Voicemail active in the dialer.  Even the dual-SIM options for how data and texts are handled are absolutely terrible for Samsung's default apps.  Texting an MMS through the Samsung Messages app on the not set to default SIM has the message fail until you switch the default SIM.  Google Messages is pretty much the same, if you can even get it to recognize dual-SIM on the S23 Ultra.  Pulse works as I think it should.  It automatically switches the data connection temporarily and automatically when you text or send an MMS from the SIM that isn't set to default.

Best way for me (Galaxy 23 Ultra), set primary sim to tmobile then it'll work... then set primary sim back to whichever sim you need!

I replaced the Samsung dialer on my S23+ with the Google Dialer and configured the GD to “always ask” which SIM I am using to dial a number with - so I just hit the Voicemail dial number from that and it asks which SIM - .. sort of a pain, I have to check voicemail twice - once for each phone number, but it does work and it’s reliable without relying on poorly-designed carrier apps.

Agreed though - hilarious that Samsung puts on dual-SIM phones without supporting it directly from the dialer or voicemail, etc.

I have a workaround but it's not ideal and I want a better solution to this problem. What I did was go into T-Mobile account settings and enable access through digits to my 2nd line then downloaded the digits app, signed in and turned on just that line and turned on do not disturb so calls and texts wouldn't notify twice then get voicemails through digits but like I said I want a better solution to this problem

  • I have the same exact problem. Upgraded to a new phone with Android 11 and lost ability to view both sim voicemails. TMobile visual voicemail also keeps getting confused saying my account is wrong due to having 2 sim numbers. Has to be reset each time I get voicemail from the other sim.
