It was never 'his', but shareholders. He was there for a purpose - to attempt to make T-Mobile as large as AT&T/Verizon by not having the appearance of being like AT&T and Verizon.
Of course, once the transformation was done - time to cut and run. There is no 'loyalty' to a corporation. It is there to make a profit. Legere flipped the company, and now as it is becoming more like the other 2 in size, it is also becoming that way as a .. 'carrier'.
Eg.
- was against bundling of services (now bundles and adds all sorts)
- was against increased rates with the uncontract - now will break it purposely and give you 1 month
- was against activation fees - now requires them
T-Mobile for some is still the low cost option, it just isn’t the same (or appears the same) as before T-Mobile / Sprint deal.
