9 TopicsHigh-Speed Internet Gateway does not work with some apps on T-mobile Home Wifi Internet
I don't know if anybody can help. Encountered a few deal breaking moments with T-mobile Home Wifi internet. I get a whopping 100-235mbps with my High-Speed Internet Gateway but it prevents full access to apps causing extreme lag spikes, pages not loading and video not playing with Amazon Prime Video (on PS4 and on Amazon Fire Stick 4k), TD Ameritrade trading platform for Windows 10, and to a lesser extent apps like Epic Games on PC I also have T-vision TV package, that works fine. So does Netflix. Epic games was able to be fixed once telling PC to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. respectively. I had to use Nord VPN to get TD Ameritrade to function correctly without freezing at times, DNS change did not work here. Amazon prime video is still a no go, constantly stops and takes a long time to load again only to stop again. DNS change also did not resolve the issue. It should still work with Nord VPN because it bypasses all T-Mobile filters, but I did not buy T-mobile Home WiFi internet to need the VPN all the time, so I did not bother trying VPN with Prime Video. Is that something we can possibly fix in firmware? And soon please? Speaking of firmware. There is no place to get a new Firmware update which the High-Speed Internet Gateway critically needs. It lacks too many features. One the most needed features is to allow the High-Speed Internet Gateway to turn in just a modem and turn off all routing features so that users can bring their own independent routers to handle DHCP and other advanced functions. High-Speed Internet Gateway also has a bug where I can not fully disable all of the WiFi Signals. You can stop broadcast and SSID from being announced and reduce the radio power for 2.4ghz and 5ghz from 100% down to 12% but it is still not entirely off. I can still see a 5ghz band displaying a signal and allows me to connect when WiFi is supposed to be disabled. Apparently there is a 5Ghz low and 5Ghz high antenna mode. And the 5ghz high is the one that remains visible and usable. Can not be turned off. I don't want to use the hub for wifi, just want to use hard wired internet. I hope to see these issues addressed in the next firmware update with a resources on where we can obtain the new firmware update file as right now there is no information on that anywhere for the new High-Speed Internet Gateway. At the very least I want to see the simple feature of turning the gateway into a modem all by itself and I can handle all the routing on my end instead and if it comes to it I can do a whole house VPN that way and bypass all the problems. Older gateways had the expert mode from what I could see, please bring that back too if you can. Thank you for reading! And for the help! Mike P.S. I have already tried turning it off and back on again, obviously does not work. VPN seems to be the only way to bypass all the problems, but since the unit can not disable routing to act solely as a modem, I can not use a separate router for DHCP and to run VPN for the whole house.9KViews7likes21Comentarios5G Home Internet Continues to disconnect
I have had this device just a few days and I must reboot it about three times a day as the WIFI will fail and knock out ethernet as well. Sometime I have to reboot it twice in a row. When can I expect a hotfix for this issue? I cannot afford to work like this and I will have to drop service is not fix ASAP. I will like to also request credit on my bill until the issue is 100% resolved. I see several topics for the exact same issue I am having and it need to be fixed across the board!!!Solved3.1KViews6likes16ComentariosHome Internet - Sudden consistent signal degradation
We've had 5G home internet for several months and have loved it. Signal strength to the router was consistently 3 bars, occasionally jumping to 4 bars, but we were seeing speeds of 200+/75down pretty consistently. A slow day would be around 100/50, still enough for two people to work from home. For the past few weeks the signal strength has dropped to 2 bars and has stayed there. Download speed has dropped to around 80/40 which is becoming a problem. Coincidentally this started around the time of the last firmware update (I also started getting the "Device Overload" error, but a factory reset fixed that). Has any one else experienced this or know what the solution is?Solved1.8KViews0likes6ComentariosNo Android 12 Update for S21 Ultra
Purchased S21 ultra from Best Buy as device upgrade for Tmobile line about 5 days ago. Device itself is Tmobile (verified by tmobile and their Samsung support). Problem is that it doesn't seem to be getting any update from Tmobile's servers. Contacted TM and they transferred to their Samsung support. Samsung support blamed tmobile and stated its their responsibility to push the update. Tmobile said to wait for 48-72 hours. Been waiting for a while now and no Android 12 update. I could update the firmware on my own using third party solutions but I shouldn't have to as there's risk involved with that. My return period from Best Buy will end soon. Need to figure out if this device will get the update or not. My S21 was on Android 12 for almost a month until I traded it in. Another family member has S21 Ultra and their device is also running 12. Need this figured out fast as my return period is ending soon.1.6KViews0likes6ComentariosBand n25 SA on Galaxy S22 Ultra still not enabled
T-Mobile has recently spoken about the newer n25 SA band being used lately, and it was even tested with my model, the S22 Ultra. Lots of people are already picking up this band (with other model phones, or are having to hack their S22 to even enable the n25 SA band) in carrier aggregation with n41 for improving 5G UC speeds. I have a TMob carrier firmware S22U deviceand in the most 2 recent software updates, Nov, and now just got Dec ver.S908USQU2BVL1. It's unbelievable that TMob has still not enabled n25 SA. Only n25 NSA is enabled (since Nov update) which is useless. Only the new n25 band can CA (carrier aggregate) with n41 on SA, not NSA. This is very disingenuous for T-Mobile to be out touting this update while not offering it on a phone that has all these bands by default but is not being enabled by T-Mobile, especially on such a flagship phone like the S22 Ultra. What is going on?1KViews0likes11ComentariosBought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G, and have no option for Delivered, Read, or Typing in Messages. Can I flash T-Mobile firmware to it in an attempt tto get this feature back?
I got an unlocked s20+ 5g from Reebelo, and used SmartSwitch to copy EVERYTHING over from my old S10e. For a VERY brief period as SmartSwitch was doing its thing, I had delivered and read receipts on my texts in the normal Messages app. Once Smartswitch was done, that feature was gone, and the option wascompletely absent from my settings in individual messages and the Messages app. I tried a factory reset and it is still gone (did not use SmartSwitch OR Google backup OR Samsung backup). Hours of searching the interwebs for a solution has yielded no results (I have tried all the supposed fixes.) The only thing I saw that MIGHT work is someone talking about flashing the carrier's firmware to their unlocked phone. I found a tutorial on how to do this with the T-Mobile S20+ 5G firmware to my unlocked phone. My questions are: A: would this screw up my phone somehow? and B: Would this have any hope of even working to fix my read receipt/delivered options being gone from Messages? I do NOT want to use Google Messages. I hate it, and it doesn't have read receipts for SMS/MMS anyhow, and I do NOT wanna use RCS coz no one I text uses RCS so Google Messages just switches back and forth. In short, Google Messages is not an option for me. Help! I am open to ANY suggestions on how to get my delivered/read/typing options back! :) Thanks!Solved199Visto0likes2ComentariosSamsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Firmware Update Not Completed
Not sure what to do my phone updated a couple days ago and still has this notification saying "Firmware update not completed Next Auto Retry 08:15pm". I've rebooted the phone a few times over the past couple of days along with removing apps I not longer use in case it was a space issue. Any advice appreciated!179Visto0likes1ComentarioFrom S21Ultra to S22 to the a13 and finally S7 from Sprint
As you see, ive had a string of bad luck that rivals every superstition combined and had to resort to ancient tech by comparison. Im using my fathers old s7 from Sprint only even the T-Mobile reps at the store couldnt even help me. I got a new sim, the phone went from internet capable only with my A13's T-mobile sim, to phone call only with the fresh T-mobile sim. Then when i could receive calls and texts but not mobile data, outgoing calls failed. Texts were fine….ish. But now, I cannot receive most calls, and most calls take minutes to start ringing only to drop before i can get past automated phone menus. i cant even listen to a song on Amazon Music without significant skipping. To me all this screams "well duh," its an old phone by comparison. But its OEM unlocked, and i am trepidatious about rooting or flashing firmware as both Samsung and T-Mobile have failed miserably in customer relations neither honoring what rules about warranty and protection which can easily be bentin the name of customer service, and want me to pay to have it serviced….. A FREAKIN GALAXY S7. But i have a mental illness, I can screw up a video tutorial going step by step and this is my last line of communication before i no longer have my coping mechanisms to keep myself safe, i mean that literally as its a severe illness i deal with. Neither company is apparently interested in giving personal assistance to a loyal customer who knows that they absolutely should have honored warranties, or found some kind of solution due to extreme circcumstances. everyone has a sob story, but in that degression of devices, I only got the A13 becasue i was broken down in a parking lot, and police were about to tow my van, my home, promised i could go literally across the street to get a phone from the T-mobile store and in 20 minutes as i begrudgingly walked out with the lowest tier phone so i could call and get help i saw i was already being towed and away my van went. My s22 was broken when Igot jumped, beaten to hell, and they were unhappy i had no cash in my wallet. kicker is that multiple times T-Mobile said they would "Solve the problem", "...We can talk to Samsung on your behalf, dont worry." and my favorite, "we value your being a Magenta MAX customer." And before the end of the day i either leave T-Mobile and suck it up for a while and save (a literal POTENTIAL risk of my life) to get an appropriate phone. because im eligible for an upgrade, but T-mobile deals are seemingly great deals like 800 off with trade in, or $0 down with new line. But these are deals catering to anyone who is able to work for a living. The a13 for instance, give me an additional $4 credit so upgrading to an appropriate device is still $500 down payment. Thats roughly 43% of my Social security benefit each month. And truth is when you are trying to get and keep a van running by learning auto repair on the fly, and are under that hood sacraficing meals to keep your dog fed and create a suitable home for the both of you but making sure your dog never goes hungry…you begin wondering where the hell customer service went. because that vanished years ago and now its just a bunch of people who are so concerned with pacifying an angry customer with pleasantries and baseless if not false reassurance that im appalled by the script they are too concerned with rather that speaking as to humans one being a customer and the other working job. all that to say, both companies promised and failed to follow up and help me recover a crucial part of my life that keeps my mental health in check and have no regard even when i ask. But i guess AT&T might and thats my next stop on the computer im borrowing. but my wquestion is i need the flash my firmware, but dont know which version to get for fear of losing even this S&, a sm-g930p because the CSC, I dont see a SPR anywhere in it. I simply want the unlocked out of factory, direct from SAMSUNG firmware while i save for an appropriate phone. But suffice to say, im angry and AT&T isnt my only stop, I fully intend to present this with proof as an example of the state of things for consumers anywhere I can, especially those who go beyond poverty and destitute becomes more accurate.51Visto0likes0Comentarios
