Arcadyan vs. Sagemcom -- which is better?
I have the option of exchanging my Aradyan gateway for a Sagemcom. Which is a better gateway for the home internet?
I was given this opportunity when this past weekend, we suddenly started having very bad speeds (although this for now seems to have resolved and is somewhat back to normal or at least back to an acceptable level).

I wonder if when I exchange it that I could actually hold on to the original unit for a short period of time just so that if the Sagecom doesn't work out well for my purposes that I can easily swap it out and return the Sagecom. Hmm…..

I wouldn’t. Just make the exchange and move forward.

Interesting.
Since our access to the internet is back to acceptable levels, my spouse suggested that we wait to see if there is a prolonged issue before trying a new gateway modem. I guess I might lean that way...

What do you consider acceptable levels? I'm trying out an Arcadyan KVD21 gateway and the salesperson that provided it stated that customers were reporting average speeds that are much higher than I'm seeing.

Acceptable levels to me is when internet speed no longer becomes an issue, meaning I don't notice it slowing me down. Basically when speed is no longer intrusive and the issue recedes into the background.
