Re: purchasing used 5g gateway for home internet
Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll stay away from the EBay listings for picking up my own 5g gateway...I too was suspicious of the legitimacy of how/why these units are in the market if TM doesn't sell them, except for when they charge you for not receiving the return when an account gets closed.22Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: purchasing used 5g gateway for home internet
The seasonal suspension route costs $10/month, plus it didn't work so well this last winter. They ended up charging full price the month following suspension. After a few call run arounds the rep indicated home internet isn't a seasonal suspendable line within the system. They ended up crediting the account so good of them. T-mobile just needs to treat the home internet for what it is and not a "line" where a customer would care about keeping the issued phone number. Maybe I'll just cancel this fall and send back the gateway. I liked the thought of having my own gateway to possibly eliminate any delay in turning back on service in the spring.28Visto0likes0Comentariospurchasing used 5g gateway for home internet
There are many kvd21 and other used tmobile gateways for sale on eBay. Are they legit to purchase and use with TM home internet?? We only use the service for a seasonal place and want to eliminate having to send back their gateway in the fall by purchasing our own.1.7KViews0likes8ComentariosRe: 5G home internet speed after 15-day trial.
I'm a little past day 15 and haven't seen much difference in speed tests. My gateway ison band n71so the most I've ever seen is ~170. You must have been on the faster 2500mhz band n41 to get your 250-400. Might just be the gateway placement and your seeing slower speeds because it's connected to n71? Check yours viahttp://192.168.12.1/TMI/v1/gateway?get=allto find out which 5g band your on13Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Google Nest WiFi
The router outputs 5ghz and 2.4ghz so they should be able to connect. Try and seperate the radios into two ssid, one for 2.4 and the other for 5, and see if you can connect them that way. The kvd21 is basically unmanageable they way it's locked down right now other than seperation of radios. I've found using your own wifi router attached directly to one of the kvd21's ethernet ports works best for connecting and managing your devices. Speedtests are much better as well, using my ol' Asus router I average 135/80 on the 5ghz radio vs the KVD at 75/70 on wifi6 5ghz radio.35Visto0likes0Comentarios
