Don't receive automated account verification text messages.
For any site I visit (desktop or mobile version) that has a 2-step authentication and sends out a text message with an access code, I don't receive that message on my phone. I do receive texts from other cell phone numbers. And I can see the messages on both the standard message app that comes on the Samsung, and the Google app that I mostly use for texts.
I've had trouble with this too in the past. This is something that can be fixed by our Care team. Si Community-2153, we can have a specialist check your account and make sure these message aren't being blocked. The last step is filing a Trouble Ticket to have our engineers take a look at your connection on the back end and help fix anything that's stopping them from coming through.

Yep, contacted a specialist that removed a block on short text codes. Should be good now. Thank you.

Call TMobile customer support and request to enable "Short Codes" like for bank and automatic verification. You will then have to restart your phone and possibly wait for 1-2 hrs for it to kick in.

I am having the same problem on my line. Is there anyway I can get assisted on this issue too?

It appears that T-Mobile did an update and turned off the short codes as default. My phone showed the short codes enabled but T-Mobile had it disabled. Customer care enabled and the problem is resolved. I don't know if disabling and then enabling on the phone would correct the problem.

I need to be refreshed as to how to go about disabling then reenabling the short codes. Please and thank you.

It is different on each phone. These are the instructions for the Galaxy S7 Edge. However, you might want to consider just calling customer care at 611 to verify whether it is set correctly.

Yes but why should I have to use my personal time and work through a robo-service call center aitch-ee-double hockeysticks in order to receive my texts? I don't really want my phone company deciding which of my texts I want to see and I don't want to have to notice that something is missing.
