apple watch
14 TopicsActivating standalone apple watch on t-mobile, while paired to iPhone using different carrier?
Hi, looking for expert advice/help: I got an Apple watch SE for my child, and purchased a standalone plan from T-mobile. She does not have a phone. The adults have Verizon phones. The watch was an outright purchase from apple, and no one at customer service at T-mobile indicated that this would be an issue when purchasing the plan over the phone. (Reason for choosing T-mobile was that the verizon standalone watch plan costs 3x more) I initially paired the watch to my own phone under "set up for a family member", but T-mobile was unable activate the watch over the phone (2 different calls/attempts). When I select "set up cellular" on the watch, only a Verizon login page loads. I went to a physical T-mobile store, and the employee told me you can't set up a standalone plan on a watch using a phone that has a different carrier. Google seems to yield conflicting results. I did find a Verizon page stating "The Apple Watch doesn't need to be connected to the same carrier as your Apple® iPhonewhen set up using Standalone mode (Set Up for a Family Member)" …. so I would assume the same would be truefor other carriers (such as T-mobile)offering a standalone watch plan?? Has anyone successfully set up a T-mobile standalone apple watch under these circumstances and can offer help? Thanks very much ..1.5KViews1like4ComentariosThe utter and abject failure of my encounter with T- Mobile support of the Cellular option provided by Apple Watches.
The utter and abject failure of my encounter with T- Mobile support of the Cellular option provided by Apple Watches. Original problem: Lost the ability, that originally worked, to make or receive cellular VOICE calls when out of range of cell phone, or when cell phone was turned off….. EVEN THOUGH I was still on the T-Mobile LTE network and had the use of text and GPS. After working with T-Mobile tech, I lost the ability to add a cellular plan to watch (getting Error code 406.) The watch works as normal, when able to go thru the cellular phone. But without being able to use the phone as a conduit, the calls always fail. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max / Apple Watch Series 7 / All with current software Two hours on the phone with T-Mobile Front end and backend support 4/3 Two hours at a T-Mobile store with representative and backend support 4/4 Two hours at the Apple Store ALL WITH NO ONE WITH ANY CLUE WHAT WAS WRONG Apple sent my Apple Watch off to the regional repair location 4/5 New replacement Apple Watch Series 7 with Cellular received Problem persists on new watch Another 3 hours on phone with T-Mobile backend support New error in addition to old problem T-Mobile error "The maximum number of devices allowed to be paired to this phone has been reached. To continue you will need to unpair a device."Error code 406" T-Mobile representative was unable to figure this out …… Back on the phone to Apple L2/L3support… confirms message is referencing T-Mobile configuration or processes. Another call to T-Mobile T-Mobile backend support unable to make any inroads toward a solution, advised they are sending me out a new cellular phone. My cellular phone has consistently been the only thing working properly, so I am hesitant to change anything with that regard. THIS HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. I love Apple products, but their partnership with T-Mobile is a ghastly abomination of inadequate training or processes that are too complicatedfor their employees…. It's been a week since my ordeal began, and there is no end in sight… My advice, STAY AWAY FROM T-MOBILES implementation of the cellular capabilities of Apples watches. DIGITS is a failure, either by complexity, process, or employee training and expertise.1.6KViews2likes14ComentariosPhone promotions for new watches only
I'm so frustrated with T-Mobile! I have been with this company since 2004 and continue to be punished for being a loyal customer. I have a series 4 watch purchased in 2019 with a line and have been looking for any offer on watches for the last 2 years and the only deals they give are for new lines. It's upsetting because my cellular doesn't even work on my watch anymore like it should and so I'm willing to get a new watch but would like to purchase on a promo. So to do so Ihave to be inconvenienced for 90-days and then add the line back on. I find this upsetting. I've been patient and I just don't feel like TMobile cares about existing customers. It makes me really sad57Visto0likes2ComentariosAdding an Apple Watch to my account for a child
I have the Magenta Max plan with 3 lines with an iPhone on each (me, wife, son). I want to add an Apple Watch for my daughter as a standalone device so she can call us in an emergency and so we can see her location when going to/from school (she is too young for an iPhone). When I try to buy a watch from T-Mobile online, the site keeps asking me which existing line I would like to add the watch to. I can't find any way to buy a watch and add a standalone line for it. I was hoping to take advantage oftheApple Watch SE 2 deal (24 monthly credits when adding a line) but it seems to be for a Digits line only, paired with an existing number. Is there a specific process for this? Or do I need to go to a store? thanks!2.1KViews0likes2ComentariosActivating Apple watch on stand alone line
I had a question concerning setting up an Apple watch on a stand alone line. I purchased the Apple Watch from T-mobile and was required to add a new line. I did andthe watch was mailed to me and can see an additional number in my T-mobile account. However, the watch is not functioning as it is supposed to so I am assuming that we do not have everything set up correctly. My wife has paired the watch with her phone. But when I call her cell number the watch doesn't ring or anything. When I call the number that was added to my account, the call goes right to voicemail. But the funny thing is my wife can make calls from the Apple watch and the caller idshows her cell number number but again she can'treceive calls on the watch. Is there something we are missing with the activation process of this Apple Watch and new stand alone line?175Visto0likes0ComentariosApple Watch on Metro by T-Mobile
3 weeks ago, I called customer service to see if I could add an apple watch to my Metro by T-Mobile plan. I was assured that all I had to do was call with the IMEI number and I'd be able to add it. Fast forward to today when I tried to add my newly purchased apple watch and I was told that the network had not been updated to support apple watch. The customer service agent must have heard my jaw drop because he reassured me that this would happen soon (I have no reason to believe this is true since the last customer service agent gave me false information). So can anyone tell me if Metro by T-Mobile actually supports apple watch? And if not, are there any plans for Metro by T-Mobile to support apple watch?7.3KViews0likes3ComentariosGot to pay for not to get, its just a fitness tracker not like what they say about it, over price ....

I need to upgrade my Apple Watch, and due to near-future plans,I know I will need theLTE bands from an international model more than I need the unique US model ones now. However, it would be nice to upgrade now and use it in here in the meanwhile. I realize I will be missing one of the extended range LTE T-Mobile bands, but I don't think that will affect me much. Anyway, the question is, has anybody activated (or does anyone know if T-Mobile will allow us to)an international model Apple Watchon a watch line? It should technically be possible, but I've read that some carriers in other countries don't allow US models to be activated whileothers do, so I'm wondering what the T-Mobile policy is.125Visto0likes2Comentarios
