Re: T-Life Tuesdays Metro by T-Mobile
I have Small Business Internet and have been unable to access the T-Mobile Tuesdays offers since the T-Life app rollout except for briefly after an app upgrade which has since been superseded and I'm back to not being eligible. I didn't notice this before, so assuming it's an addition made in the latest app update. On the "tell us what you have" page where you choose T-Mobile phone number or Internet Gateway, there is a small disclaimer that says "This doesn't include Metro and T-Mobile for Business Internet gateways or phone numbers." The only other option on that page is"I have neither" and selecting that just takes you to only being able to manage the router and having no access to the deals. It should be noted that I got an email from T-Mobile Business on Feb. 26 touting my Magenta Status and directing me to download the app. My business account page also touts at the top of the page "Congrats! You've gotMagenta Status. Take your business further with 15% off hotels across all Hilton brands, EV recharge on Us at Hertz, refuel on Us at Dollar, exclusive entertainment benefits, & Thanks every Tuesday." I'm fine if they've decided I don't qualify, but they shouldn't say I am if I'm not.14Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMobile Tuesdays Eligibility
New app update on my phone on March 12 appears to have made me ineligible for T-Mobile Tuesdays again. Version 8.2.1 on Android. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no luck. I do notice now on the "tell us what you have" page where you choose T-Mobile phone number or Internet Gateway that there is a small disclaimer that says "This doesn't include Metro and T-Mobile for Business Internet gateways or phone numbers." So, I selected "I have neither" and it just takes me back to only being able to manage the router and having no access to the deals. I guess that's fine, but it doesn't explain why my account page says I have Magenta Status and am eligible for the offers. Or why they proudly sent me an email about my Magenta Status.5Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMobile Assigned IP Blacklisted
I had this issue as well about a month ago, but fortunately after a couple of reboots of the gateway I was able to get an IP that worked. Haven't had an issue since. It might be a regional issue as well. I recall a discussion on this site awhile ago about users having trouble with Google searches and other services because of blacklistedIPs.10Visto1like0ComentariosRe: TMobile Tuesdays Eligibility
Re: Small Business Internet customer access to T-Mobile Tuesdays. T-Life app updated on my phone on Tuesday, March 5 and now allows me access to the Tuesdays offers. The app itself has an update date of 2/29/24, so not sure why it took so long to update on the phone.I'm using Android. Of note, I never went through the step of having a code sent to the gateway for verification. I was never able to make it to that point before. Perhaps because of all the troubles they're allowing access with just the account being logged into.7Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMobile Tuesdays Eligibility
Played around a little with the app and was able to get to the part of it that let's you control your gateway. I think I had to click on "explore T-Life" or something like that. And then finally got it to let me sign in and set it up for fingerprint log in, but when I try and link the phone number to the account I still get the same "business number" message. Interesting thing is that I got an email today from T-Mobile for Business "Introducing Magenta Status" touting all the benefits including T-Mobile Tuesdays. When I click on the links in the email it takes me to the area to download the T-Life app. So assumedly business customers are eligible for the perks, there just doesn't seem to be a way to access them. Maybe it's working for people with business cellphones just not gateways. Hopefully they will figure it out.8Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMobile Tuesdays Eligibility
Different issue, but I guess it still falls under eligibility. I have a business account and used to be able to access T-Mobile Tuesdays offers. However when I try to sign up to the T-Life app after inputting the Gateway phone number, a pop up appears that says "This looks like a business account number. Great news! T-Mobile for Business customers can use Account Hub. Please go to tfb.t-mobile.com" with an"Okay" box.The link isn't clickable and hitting okay just sends me to back to the enter your gateway phone number screen. The link just goes to the Account Hub where I can manage my account. It doesn't have anything to do with T-Life. So, anyone with a business account or more specifically Business Internet able to sign up for T-Life? I rarely used any offers (maybe twice), so not a big deal, but it was nice to have access to them.18Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Gateway G4AR Router
You are fortunate to be one of the early receptors of this gateway which was only recently released. There's a lot of interest in how it will perform especially for those in need of adding an external antenna. This is the first gateway they've offered that includes external antenna connectors. There are people within this community much more knowledgable than I, so perhaps they'll share their thoughts as well. If this gateway works as all their others do, which I assume it would, it supposedly requires an LTE signal to operate. It will work without a 5G signal, but typically poorly. I believe a standalone LTE router works better when no 5G signal is available. The gateway will select the tower/bands automatically. There is no way to manually select them with any routers provided by T-Mobile. T-Mobile might be able to selectively adjust themselves if you have issue and give them a call, but I'm not sure exactly what they do. You also can check on Nater Tater's YouTube channel for more information about all the gateways. I believe there might be a non-T-Mobile router he discusses that allows the user to lock on to specific towers, but my memory is a little hazy on that. In general, T-Mobile has greatly locked down the gateways, so very little customization is possible. This includes very minimal options for the router functions which many users have found frustrating.12Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: T-Mobile Home Internet Download and Upload speed difference
Pure speculation, but I suppose it's also possible that when you move the gateway to the other side of your home,it's connecting to a different LTE tower. And, even if yoursignal is excellent in both areas, one tower has less congestion, so performs better. It's also possible that one tower operates ona higher speed band than the other, but not sure if that would account for upload speeds as low as yours. More than likely, based on the excellent quality of your signal, but still poor speed, the problem is too much traffic on the LTE tower you're connecting to in the gateway's current location. If that's the case you will need to reach out to T-Mobile support to see if they have a solution for you. I'm not sure if they have a way to force the gateway to connect to a different tower or to at least ignore a troublesome one. Since you already have a good signal, I'm not sure if it will make a difference, but if you haven't already, you can try rotating the gatewayto see if it improves things. Maybe start off rotating in 45° increments and then fine tune in smaller increments. In my case even shifting the gateway left and right makes a slight difference in finding the best angle to the towers.9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: T-Mobile Home Internet Download and Upload speed difference
I recall it being mentioned, although not sure if it's true or not, that download speed corresponds with the quality of the secondary 5G signal and upload speed corresponds with the primary LTE signal. Moving the gateway around can improve one signal while diminishing the other which could explain your issue. I ended up choosing the location that provided the best 5G signal even though the LTE signal quality is slightly reduced. In my case, even though the towers for both signals are in the same place, they seem to be directed at different angles. You can check the quality of the two signals using the T-Mobile Home Internet App. Select the "MORE" tab and click on "Advanced Cellular Metrics". There's multiple discussions on this forum that discuss what the readings mean.8Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: wi fi password doesnt work
The sticker on the device should include two passwords. One is the administrator password and is probably the one labeled as "Password". The other is the password for the WiFi SSID and it might be labeled as "WiFi Key". Assuming you didn't create a new SSID and password when you set up the gateway, then you should use the WiFi Key. If you have the T-Mobile Home Internet app and you are logged into your router, you can find the password for the network by going to the "Network" tab in the app - clickon the network and then click on the eye symbol to the right of the password to show it.5Visto1like0Comentarios
