I can't pay my bill using an international credit card

Prepaid plan is on my radar to lower monthly cost as a retired senior; but travel for 3-6 months outside the US certainly can present a payment problem as mentioned above. Our standard plan has been "postpaid" using autopay which alleviates this international credit card dilemma. It givew me pause to reconsider a switch to a prepaid acct, something I just recently began investigating.
