PSA for anyone unable to register T-Mobile ID for home internet: quick fix that support is not aware of

I am sure it is supposed to! But as you can see from this thread, a lot of us can't. I have a T-Mobile ID; they sent an email to me verifying that. But if I try to sign in, I receive the request for my phone number!
