12 Topicsadding VPN software to newest white 5G T-Mobile Router
Greetings all I'm wondering if it's possible to add VPN software to the newest white 5G router itself to protect my entire network? I'm wanting to do this that particular way instead of trying to add VPNs to all my devices instead while still having my main devices covered yet not able to have my home security devices unprotected. Adding a VPN to the router would allow for full coverage of everything to include my home security devices. Then i would only need to make adjustments to one VPN point once instead of everything separately. If it's somehow not available who do i contact to request this feature? I'm not opposed to upgrading to a business plan if it's available that way. The whole point would be adding security. That would be a key selling point in the future, T-Mobile. I'm not wanting to make any adjustments to the router itself. I'm wanting to add software that would interface AFTER any functions of the router. Hope this makes sense to anyone reading this as it's standard functions for aftermarket routers.66Visto0likes0ComentariosCan't connect to work VPN using Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway
We got theSagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway model for Home Internet, however, we can't connect to the work VPN. We called customer support twice and their responses were that "we don't provide any support to VPN". The IT support of my company asked us to inquire about some settings and configurations to T mobile support and the response was that "this is a plug and use device. All you can see is the information on Home Internet App. We don't know more than you do." After some research on the community, it looks that some Firmware versions were released to specifically address the VPN issues, but it was for the Nokia gateway not the Sagemcom gateway,https://www.t-mobile.com/support/home-internet/nokia-gatewayWe wonder if T mobile can release similar Firmware updates to the Sagemcom gateway to address the VPN issue ASAP, such as, Resolves VPN tunnel protocols IKEv2/L2TP/IPSec Improves known issues: Cisco AnyConnect VPN; GlobalProtect VPN connection issues; Degraded experience1.9KViews5likes9ComentariosJust cancelled my internet account because of no work vpn functinality
My work vpn has been abysmally slow. I called a few times and I was told that this would be resolved in 48 hours. The person that I spoke to had no idea what was going on. Given that I work from home, 48 hours is really unacceptable. Don't recommend this product for anyone that's working from home.102Visto1like1ComentarioHow to Connect to a Consumer VPN on T-Mobile Home Internet (5G Nokia Gateway)
I am NOT paid or endorsed by any VPN company or anyone else to make this post. This is simply what works for me and my particular VPN client. I am using the Nokia 5G grey tube router, and I've seen a few posts complaining that they can't use a VPN with it. Also special thanks to the T-Mobile rep who advised me on some of this when I got the service. If you're using PIA (and this may apply to your VPN as well), click the 3 dots, go to your settings, and do the following under the Connection tab: Make sure your protocol is OpenVPN Change your connection type to TCP Change your configuration method to Static After this, close the settings, and reconnect to your VPN. If using other software, make sure to save your settings if it does not automatically do so. It may take 1-5 minutes for your IP to change to your VPN. After this, google "what is my ip" and make sure it matches with your VPN. In my case, it took about 2 minutes for my IP to completely change over, even after my VPN client connected. Below are some pictures for those of you who aren't quite as savvy: I hope this helps anyone trying to use a VPN. I can't provide any support beyond this post, so best of luck.36KViews5likes22ComentariosHow To Get Nebula VPN To Work With Nokia Gateway
Has anyone been able to get Nebula VPN to work with Nokia gateway? Everything is fine until I fire up Nebula. Then for the work sites I need, I'm blocked …an immediate "not found". Not like it times out. It's immediate. All other sites are fine except those that require a VPN. I've seen that some past firmware updates have addressed some Cisco VPN issues but no mention of Nebula. It uses port 4242, and I keep wondering if that's somehow an issue. Weird thing is: if I turn of WiFi and use my phone as a hotspot, I'm golden. But with the Nokia gateway, nada. Anyone? Any help? Beuler? Thanks in advance.71Visto0likes1ComentarioVPN/Proxy
I up until today have been a certain show on Netflix, I tried to watch it today but it disappeared and I received a message about my VPN/ proxy being on, I haven't made any changes, I can still watch other shows but the show I was watching disappeared, it won't even let me screencast from my phone. I am using a 5G gateway, it tried disconnecting the gateway and connecting to my TV thru my phones hotspot but still had the same issue. Anyone have any advice?155Visto0likes1ComentarioIs it possible to change settings regarding cloud VPN services? Be it firewall or otherwise.
I work from home part-time and use a provided router that automatically connects to a cloud VPN to access internal sites and tools. I was talking to some of our networking guys and they said that there's often issues with the 5G networks and the traffic that is allowed through them (MTU size and traffic shaping). So I wanted to find out if it's possible to alter the T-Mobile gateway settings for any kind of firewall thatcan turn off or to allow to turn off traffic shaping/allow VPN bypass. I figure there's a strong chance I may have to contact T-Mobile tech support proper. The current app for changing the network settings doesn't seem as comprehensive/useful as going through the internal OS UI on a home router (like Asus or Netgear).198Visto0likes2ComentariosVPN issues, can't connect to barracude VPN nor openVPN
Barracuda VPN, for work, refuses to connect at all. Worked fine over Calyx hotspotwhich uses Tmo towers, so really confused on what causes the failure on home internet gateway vs. the Calyx hotspot. - OpenVPN attempted as a bandaide to tunnel through Tmo VPN issues. DD-WRT reports the VPN makes a succesful connection but no clients can actually get any bandwidth through the router while "connected" to openVPN server.Solved935Visto0likes3ComentariosIssue with T-mobile Home 5G and Cisco AnyConnect
Hello, When I try to connect my vpn Cisco Anyconnect with my box Home 5G, I have this message: "The VPN was terminated due to a loss of communication with the secure gateway. A new connection is necessary, which requires re-authentification." I tried toAllow local (LAN) access when using VPN (if configured) but it did not work. I have no idea what to do. AFAICT my T-Mobile Internet router connects to a CGNAT DMZ, and every time I connect to a networkservice I do so from what appears to that service to be a different IP4 address. There seem to be exceptions, however, for some known protocols - I've had an SSH session up for several consecutive days. So one CAN obtain a static IP address for things like VPNs and SSH, but the protocol has to be well-known. Therefore, questions: Is there an IPV4 packet flag that says "this session needs a static IP address" to routers along the way? Routers are already reading the port assignments in order to determine "oh, that's SSH, better make this static." Is there a packet flag one can set? If I turned off IPV4 and just used IPV6 would the CGNAT DMZ provide a static address, since I wouldn't need to be sharing IPV4 addresses any more?802Visto0likes2Comentarios
