gaming issue?
So I play GTA V. And lately I'm not allowed to play online due to something with my t-mobile internet. I've figured out I can play after I reset my internet. Every time I start up the game. Is there a better solution due to the tedious process?

i still think its along the lines of what @syaoran mentioned above. its either going to be issues with bouncing between towers, NAT issues or because it doesnt have a static IP which i would think certain things would need in order to confirm its you.
I literally live .2 miles away from the tower. I don't think it's a switching issue. But what you say about my IP and NAT does make sense especially since T-Mobile locks users out of DHCP settings and will not allow port forwarding. Very frustrating and lame.

2 miles means zip. any dip in performance will push you to another tower which zero idea how much further out that could be. gamer here and i couldnt even fathom trying to game on a network that uses towers instead of a hard line coming into the house. are you using wifi to connect you to the net or hard wired from the box to your computer/console? might try hardwired to see if it makes any differences..but i still think its the tower to home net that is the cause for issues.
Dude, point 2 miles ( .2) not 2 miles. I could spit out my front door and hit the tower. Other games work just fine including pubg, Call of Duty (All of them), RB6, etc. I can even play some Space Engineers servers (only certain ones seem to have issue). and im using a cat6 cable straight to the modem (no wifi). Which is why im looking at DHCP and NAT which has no option settings in the 5G modems. Trust me if I diddnt live in the boondocks and had fiber or cable running to the house I wouldnt need 5G or Starlink. This is my only option if I want to get stable speeds. we just need to make noise on T-Mobile's doorstep in order for anything to be done about it.

From what I heard, it's not very optimize for gaming especially if you have congestion of a lot of other boxes in the area, it makes it totally unplayable! I had to cancel my service yesterday bc they just didn't mention that for 3 months and a few phone calls until someone yesterday finally told me!

It is internet using mobile towers. The issue is, your IP address will change when the device switches towers to provide you with a better connection. This can cause issues with gaming online as it might introduce a lag spike or cause your connection to the online server to drop.

I was sadly getting upload speeds of 700 kmpbs and download of like 20-50 mpbs! It was terrible, that's daily in my area! I couldn't even use the internet on my phone at some point. Funny enough I would switch to my T mobile data to compensate.

I have T-Mobile home internet. I have noticed problems with certain games like Space Engineers and now with GTA5 and RDR2. The rockstar launcher will not connect and when I go to the social club the webpage will not load at all (but the rockstar main page loads fine). Have you guys also had this issue? No problems with the speed Dl is at 400+ UL is at 90+. Also when I switch to my Starlink ISP ALL IS WELL!! (except starlink speeds are crappy where I'm at). Any help or suggestions that do not include "drop T-Mobile" would be helpful.

Some games also block access from mobile connections because those mobile connections can introduce latency and lag to other players.
