I've had my service for about 12 years now. Last summer I talked to the T-Mobile rep in a nearby city and was flat out told not to switch SIM cards because there was no coverage anywhere. This spring I had to replace my stolen phone and the SIM card is T-Mobile. I've called and gone into multiple stores, but stores tell me the towers are all the same now and a SIM card wouldn't help. Tech support says they'll send out a signal booster and a different SIM card, but it's been 3 months and they still say they're waiting on inventory. Sprint never had what you would call good coverage here, about .7mbps average for data, but if I left my house it was passable and I could at least stream Netflix most of the time at home. I stayed with Sprint for the unlimited data, but that's kind of a joke when you can't hardly stream a low quality movie. Still, it worked. At this point, I don't get enough service to make a phone call at home. Text messages come in days late if at all. Data usage is flat out impossible. That's at home. At work my phone is in a dead zone. There's zero function at all within 5 miles of work. The 70 miles between those 2 points is no better, GPS coverage is non-existent as well, navigation is so bad it can't even start the route. Mind you, I'm not in some insanely remote area. My phone stops working 10 min outside the capital of Michigan. I live 30 miles centered between 5 major cities in Michigan, the number 2, 3, and 5 largest population centers among them. At no point am I ever further from that and I'm almost always under 20 miles from a large city. In fact I can stand inside of 2 different T-Mobile stores in 2 different cities 40 miles apart, and it doesn't function consistently in either. I also started a second line in April, 2 days after supposedly Sprint and T-Mobile SIM cards were combined and Sprint only cards were phased out. That phone gets crappy service, but it's about what I expected from Sprint and the crappy coverage they provided. At this point, my phone is a paper weight everywhere I go and anyplace under an hours drive. What am I supposed to do here besides cancel my service?3.6KViews0likes1ComentarioSprint to T-Mobile SIM card broke my hotspot
I am a Sprint customer. I ordered and installed the T-mobile SIM card to switch over. After the change over the hotspot feature of my iPhone does not provide access to the Internet. It appears that DHCP is not giving the iPhone an IP address. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get it fixed with no solution. So they "Wrote a ticket." Haven't heard back for several days. And now I'm no longer eligible for the $200 towards a new iPhone. Really frustrated!!! Upgrade to T-mobile and break your phone!!!!919Visto1like3ComentariosLG G5 (LS992) Will It Move Over From Sprint To T-Mobile As Part And Work After 3G Retirement
When I put my IMEI number for my LG G5 (LS992) in on the T-Mobile Bring Your Own Device page, it says it is unsupported. However, the LG G5 appears to have everything that would be needed to make the switch from Sprint to T-Mobile and also has VoLTE for the 3G retirement: It has GSM support (which I confirmed in the settings), it is 4G LTE compatible, it has VoLTE (which I have turned on), and it has B2, B4, and B12 bands supported which overlap with T-Mobile (in addition to bands B66 and B71 which do not from what I understand). Since it looks like the phone has everything needed, would it be supported (is the bring your own device reporting incorrectly), or is there another reason that it may not be supported that I am missing? Thank you for any help you are able to give.709Visto0likes7ComentariosSprint -t-mobile SIM question
I have 3 lines on "Sprint". I'm getting emails/texts to convert to a t-mobile SIM. When I try to learn more I get a message for 1 line that says " Sorry this line is not yet eligible. Please contact us or visit a store to learn how to become eligible." I've had this particular line for 3 years and bought the phone outright from Apple back then. The phone is unlocked per my settings and the IMEI check says it is eligible for the t-mobile network. My other two lines (one newer phone and one older phone) are eligible for the t-mobile SIMs. What would cause this to happen?Solved5.5KViews0likes4ComentariosWhy is my Pixel 3 not eligible for a new SIM card?
I have been a Sprint customer for over 15 years now, with very few issues. Once T-Mobile and Sprint merged I began to see the quality of my cell service drop over time, and then Ireceived an email stating that I could come in to a T-Mobile store for a "SIM swap" to take advantage of the "T-Mobile Network Experience". When I went in to the T-Mobile store, the employee told me that he could swap my SIM card in just a few minutes. Then, after putting in all of my information he said that my phone did not qualify for the SIM swap and that I would have to upgrade to a new phone to qualify. He even showed me on the computer that the system was prompting him to tell me this. I have an unlocked Pixel 3, that I purchased outright from Google two years ago. The phone is even listed as a compatible device by T-Mobile here (https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/lte-band-compatible-devices). The employee at the store told me that Sprint towers are being shut down, and that my service will continue getting worse until I get a T-Mobile SIM card. It seems that T-Mobile is trying to force me in to spending hundreds of dollars on a new phone just to have decent service again. I feel like I'm being scammed here. Does anyone have information on why I can't get a T-Mobile SIM card for my Pixel 3? I've tried getting answers in store and through the customer service chat function online with no actual answer other than "Your phone doesn't qualify". I should be given a new SIM regardless of the phone if the merger is causing Sprint customers to lose service as the towers are being shut down. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
