Why am I getting SMS from our other phones on the phone I forwarded them from
OK, we have 3 phones all on T-mobile linked to the same account (Magenta 55+). One phone replaced an AT&T landline. The other two replaced AT&T mobile phones. (Sense a theme?) The landline replacement gets the doctor calls, neighbors, friends, relatives, so people only have to know one number. The others are for personal calls from people needing to reach us individually. I want to forward SMS from the landline replacement to the other two phones because the landline replacement is rarely looked at. I did that successfully with Tasker. But when a message is forwarded, it comes back from the other phones like they forwarded it to the landline replacement. Tasker is not on those phones, so I don't see any way it can cause this. Those phones are all linked on the same account because we got them all at the same time, and I am the only one who has half a clue how to access info online, including DIGITS. My wife's phone is not registered to DIGITS because I don't want to overhear communications with her lovers or whoever (as if! Not that I would be disinterested if I were single!). Just a privacy & respect thing. Is there some T-mobile setting that causes the other two phones to share SMS messages back with the landline replacement that forwarded them in the first place? What exactly does linking phones or lines in the my.t-mobile account dashboard do? Could it cause this? The landline phone does not get any other SMS messages from the other phones. Only the ones it forwarded, which clearly come back from those specific phones.67Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Digits Login and 2fa on Web Client
Does T-Mobile ever respond to things on this offload of tech support forum? In addition to the unreliable syncing with what happens on my phone re calls and messages, I also am experiencing the sudden logging out which never used to happen. Now I just logged in online to reply in the forum, and I was able to check a box to remember me, so maybe that will help with the windows desktop digits app, which appears to be some kind of browser-related piece of kit. As for reliable passing of SMS messages to computer, DIGITS does not work obviously. But I find by forwarding the SMS messages received by my phone to my Google Voice number, I get notified right away. This really helps with 2FA while I am sitting here between my 5 minute stand up breaks. Of course to forward my texts from my phone I had to come up with a Tasker script which is not ready for prime time. There is probably an app to do that. For now Google Voice is as free as anything else in the Gooverse.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Slow upload speed and T Mobile home Internet
This exchange gave me the confidence to wade into the INSEEGO M2000 advanced settings and manually selected the only T-Mobile tower in my area. I had already identified its geographical location and placed the device in a window in the corner of my limestone house that faced that directions. I experimented with device placement and strangely discovered that tilting in at a slight angle horizontally greatly improved my connection. But even still my upload speeds varied from great to as bad or worse than my copper & field mouse AT&T ADSL had been. So I took the MiFi off Auto and manually selected the one T-Mobile tower (after trying a Sprint tower which failed to connect). Download and upload speeds returned to the eyepopping levels (for what I became used to with AT&T and its wonky wires and throttled cell data) that I experienced when I first started the MiFi. Now we will see if that holds. I can actually make calls with Google Voice and use Zoom with video. I may never leave my chair again! --Chris12Visto0likes0ComentariosHow to change phone number used as Primary Account Holder
Before I realized that the Welcome email T-mobile sent me had scrambled the SIM and phone number associations, I used the number that is tied to my MiFi device as the PAH, which of course cannot receive texts or do much else that a phone can do. I want to change that to my cell phone, but I cannot find any settings to change this. When I try to create a new log in with the desiredphone number it takes me to the ID I set up using the MiFi phone number. I thought I had understood what the tech told me to do, but I guess not. Anyone know how to fix this?5.4KViews0likes3Comentarios
