I was experiencing multiple drops daily, sometimes multiple drops over a 2-hour period. However, this problem seems to have been resolved. My gateway has held a connection without dropping for19d1h31m. Perhaps there was a firmware upgrade that fixed the repeated dropouts or maybe the "tower maintenance" argument was legit. @raphaelI connected directly to the WiFi on the gateway at first. Then I heard that using a separate router and turning off the WiFi broadcasts from the gateway might help solve the dropout issue. Unfortunately, neither approach works for me. I continue to get dropouts regardless of whether I use the gateway independently or go through a separate router connected tothe gateway via Ethernet cable.4Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Frequent Disconnection on 5G Home Internet
@raphaelI have the same problem, as do many others posting on this forum. T-Mobile has been completely unresponsive in addressing it. My dropouts have occurred multiple times a day for the past few months. @LextorYes, definitely a T-Mobile problem. I, too, switched from Verizon and got good speeds the first month. Rebooting the gateway doesn't seem to fix the issue, however. And I have consistently had 5 bars. Calls to T-Mobile have beenfruitless. The last rep I talked to said the drops were caused by tower maintenance, which would be completed in a month. Really? My T-Mobile phone service works fine. But that seems to be the standard response. And it's now been several months that I've had dropped WiFi connections. @BushbondThat's an interesting observation. I'm not smart enough to know the answer. Nor doI know if it's possible to turn off the 5G and just use 4G to see if that makes a difference in whether the connection drops. Heat is not the problem in my case. The gateway is not hot. And I turned off the broadcasting on all SSIDs because I have it hooked up to another router by Ethernet cable, so the gateway only functions as a modem. Nevertheless, there are still multiple dropouts all day long.1Ver0likes0Comentarios
