Curious SpeedTest Results
Happy New Year All!
I just switched to T-Mobile Home Internet. So far, everything is going well, with one curious problem. I have my cell phone and PC connected to the gateway via WIFI. When I run the speed test on my cell phone, I typically get very fast download speeds (700 Mbps). When I run the same test on my PC, I get much slower results (around 60 Mbps download). Any ideas on why the discrepancy? ¡Gracias!
Hi Roger,
That was it! I created a new WiFi network (5 GHz only) and connected the PC. Now I am getting the same fast speeds on the PC as the phone. Many thanks!
One follow-up - Does anyone know how to delete an extra WiFi network via the app? The app has the option to create one but not to delete one. Thanks again.

Your WiFi is likely set up with both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band using the same SSID. Your devices auto-connect to whatever band the want based on signal strength. You PC is likely connecting to the 2.4 GHz band while your phones are likely connecting to the much faster 5 GHz band.

In the TM Internet app, if you go to the specific network you want to delete, you will see a "delete this network" button at the bottom. (the T-life app should have something similar, but I don't use it).
