In Cruise to Alaska
If we are on cruise to Alaska. May we text message to L.A. family member? (member in the plan)
I received a message in my cell phone " Free T-Mobile Msg: Int\u0027l data is enabled. In countries not included in your plan you may be charged up to $15/MB + tax/fees, to disable dial #763#
Free T-Mobile Msg: International data roaming has been disabled in countries not included in your plan, to enable dial #766#
Is that mean when we landed to Alaska, not in the cruise , then we can text message without charge?
I would go a step further - if I'm on the ship, I disable cell service. Only when I'm on dry land do I turn cell service back on. There are times when you can connect to land based cell service, but it's hard to tell when that if you end up using your ship's cell service, it is ungodly expensive and you will never get a refund for "I didn't know I was using ship's cell service."

You will probably be domestically roaming in Alaska, which is fine. Just make sure you are at least a few miles away from the cruise ship so you don't risk your text going over their service, which could come with a significant charge.
