242 TopicsNot Receiving Group Texts and Server Alarms on WiFi
When I'm connected to WiFi, I am not receiving group texts that include one Android user. Additionally, I'm not receiving web-based texts (such as server alarm notifications) when there is an issue. However, when I disable WiFi and switch to cellular data, I receive all of these messages immediately. My carrier is T-Mobile. I've tried basic troubleshooting, but the issue persists. Any advice on resolving this so that I can receive all messages over WiFi would be appreciated. ¡Gracias!55Visto0likes1ComentarioRCS Issues, Google Messages Glitch, Group Message Issues
Hi, This is a multifaceted problem that I've seen all over various forums, so I am not quite sure if the issue is specifically T-mobile, Google Messages, or something else. I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 running One UI V6.0, Android V14. The last software update was 22Mar2024 and these issues have been occurring for months. Frequently, in individual message threads or group threads, I will not be able to send or receive messages at all. I will get a single balloon of death that never converts to two balloons, and will not be given the option to send the message as SMS instead. I am connected to RCS, have 5G signal, and available WiFi. In a group chat with two other Android users (on two other carriers), random numbers join the group, and then leave the group. The other two users do not see this activity. I am the original owner of this phone and have had this specific phone number for about 20y so it is highly unlikely that this is a carryover from a previous owner. In the same group chat as in #2, I am frequently booted from the group. Sometimes I am notified of this on my side of the group chat and sometimes I am not. Someone has to manually add me back in. This happens at random times, and has been occurring for multiple weeks, so it's not like one of us got a new version of a messaging app suddenly and it broke the chat. In other forums, I have seen the following as a "solution" of sorts: turn on airplane mode, force stop Google Messages, delete cache, delete data, restart phone in airplane mode, exercise patience, turn off airplane mode. I have performed this action many, many times. It seems to fix it, sometimes, but doesn't last very long. This is not a solution. I've also seen performing a factory reset as a "solution." I have not done this yet because I find it absurdly excessive. I know I am not the only one in the T-Mobile community to experience this type of behavior. I prefer using Google Messages to Samsung Messages so switching messaging apps is not my favorite solution either. Please advise on appropriate next steps to rectify this situation.5.2KViews1like13ComentariosAndroid Phone Not Receiving Text Messages After Switching to T-Mobile Network
Hi T-Mobile Community, I recently switched to T-Mobile with my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S21), and since then, I haven't been receiving text messages consistently. I can send texts without any issues, but incoming messages are either delayed or don't arrive at all. Here's what I've tried so far: Restarted the phone and reset network settings. Checked the APN settings to ensure they match T-Mobile's recommendations. Verified that my SIM card is properly activated and seated correctly. Tried using both Wi-Fi calling and regular mobile network modes to see if there's any difference. Is there something specific to T-Mobile's network or Android settings that could be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this issue after switching networks? Thanks for any advice or solutions!196Visto0likes4ComentariosiPhone wil not send an RCS message after updating to iOS 18
After iOS 18 was made available, I had downloaded the update on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I was anticipating trying out the RCS messaging feature, I discovered right away that it isn't allowing rcs messages to be sent or received. in order to try to resolve the issue I went and searched for solutions. I have tried, restarting the phone, toggling on and off airplane mode, and resetting network settings. NONE of these solutions worked. last thing I did was I checked for a carrier updated and it is up to date. I further checked the IMS status and it shows that only voice and sms is allowed, and RCS is missing. knowing that is under E-SIM, I knew it had to do with T-mobile. I have called T-Mobile customer care 3 times. the first call, they weren't knowledgeable on the subject of RCS. eventually I was transferred to a "Tech Specialist" that created a trouble ticket. a second call to see If I could get a knowledgeable customer service rep and I was referred to Apple suspecting it was a software problem. Apple refers me back to T-mobile stating that they don't have control over the RCS working on the network and that is the issue of T-Mobile. attempt 3 with T-Mobile consisted of deleting my E-SIM and downloading a new one, which did not fix the RCS unavailability fiasco. I was suggested that I do a factory reset or a settings reset but at this point I don't think this the problem. Has anyone experienced this problem? if so have you resolved it? whad did you do? if it is all about IMS allowing RCS, how did you fix that? thanks in advance.Solved11KViews1like39ComentariosIssue w/ receiving various 2FA SMS texts
It seems that the past week or two I've been having an issue receiving SMS text messages, from both contacts set in my iPhone & time sensitive ones for 2FA. I've turned phone off & waited several minutes to turn it back on. The latest one, ironically, was from T-Mobile when I participated in a Red Cross disaster relief thing last night….I texted at 8:35p EST & just received confirmation at 11:26a this morning.58Visto0likes2ComentariosRegularly charged for undelivered text messages from T-Mobile short code 2519
Hi there, I am losing money from my T-Mobile prepaid service because T-Mobile sends automated text messages from shortcode 2519 every month, sometimes even twice a month. I have an old $3 pay by the day plan, where I am charged only on days I use my phone. I understand that receiving a text message is considered as "using" my phone. But in my case, the phone is turned off most of the time and I even selected the option to block incomingtext messages for my line in blocking controls of my account to avoid being charged for unwanted text messages. Every day T-Mobile sends this automated message to my (switched off) phone (which I'll never receive), $3 are deducted from my prepaid balance. That drained at least $18 out of my balance so far. For a long time I was not sure whatcauses thismoney loss and suspected a fault in the prepaid billing system. Then i noticed in the activity log of line details on my account, that text messages from 12519 were sent to my number and obvisiously caused the misdetected useage of my phone (even though it was turned offduring that time and in the follwing days). That made me wonder how this can behappening, since I activated blocking all incoming text messages before. After some research I learned, that short codes cannot be blocked by this blocking control on the account. So I called customer service and it took me around 30 minutes to address this "ordeal"to the representative, until she finally understood my problem. What she suggested was explicitly blocking this short code (12519 as it appeared in my activity log), which she offered to set up for me. I agreed, so she set up the blocking filter and promised me I'll never receive any messages from this short code again. Problem solved, so I thought. Now I just lost another $3 for (never) receiving a text message from the same short code again which should be blocked. Further research about the origin of short code 12519 did not lead to anything. Then I finally found an old, archived text message on my phone from short code 2519, which I received last year wihle the phone was switched on at thetime the message was sent. Funny enough this is just a reminder message from T-Mobile saying"T-Mobile: For further information about blocking third-party charges and ways to prevent fraud you can visit t-mo.co/Blocking". Now I can see it all… 12519, as displayed in the lineactivity log on my account was wrong…it should be 2519 (the leading 1 in the activiy log is perhaps the country code for the U.S.). With research into 2519 I found out, that thisis a T-Mobile short code for T-Mobile campaigns. It is ridiculous, that an unwanted message from T-Mobile telling me ybout options to prevent charges from third parties costs me a lot of money, coming not from a third party but from T-Mobile itself. I think if they send those messages without signing up to it they should count as free messages and not count towards the useage of my phone and cost $3 each time. One could think they do that on purpose to push people out of the old prepaid day plans. So how can I get rid of those messages, that are sent regularly to my number by T-Mobile and cost me a lot of money. I doubt that customer service would block short code 2519 if I ask them to, because it is an internal T-Mobile code. Maybe sending STOP to that short code could help, but trying this will cost me abother $3 with no guarantee it'll work. There should be some way to get rid of all messages from any of the numerous T-Mobile campaign short codes. Any suggestions, anyone? Thanks to all the can help, Chris147Visto0likes1ComentarioCan't receive text messages from most sources, including T-Mobile verification
Wondering if anyone else is newly having this issue. I found this thread that started two years ago but still had replies within the last four months and there doesn't appear to be a solution. https://community.t-mobile.com/accounts-services-4/why-am-i-randomly-not-receiving-texts-13397 I spent nearly an hour on the phone with tech support earlier and though we tried a ton of resets on my phone, as well as her manually changing what tower my phone is connecting to, I still cannot receive text messages from most accounts, including T-Mobile verification codes. Tech support had to text the other phone on our account so I could verify it was me. Many things require two-factor authentication these days, so I can't just go forward not receiving texts. Tech support said they would monitor my account for 48 hours, but wouldn't be able to tell if I was being sent messages that ultimately weren't getting delivered, so I'm not sure what the monitoring is going to do. I'm searching for any type of solution at this point. I feel like someone ought to be able to hit the master reset on my phone number and start from scratch. I can't imagine how a phone number could essentially be corrupted into not being able to receive texts anymore. I'm having issues with SMS, MMS, and Short Code. Only two people I know have gotten their texts through to me out of ten. Please help!30KViews5likes37ComentariosPeople Outside of T-Mobile Not Receiving My Texts
Hi everyone! As of late Wednesday, it appears that people who do not have T-Mobile aren't receiving my text messages. To me, they look like they're sent, however, both Verizon and AT&T customers aren't receiving anything on their end. I spoke to T-Mobile via Facebook and I've done the following: Cleared cache on phone Cleared cache and data on messages app Made sure all apps (Google Play and Galaxy Store) were up-to-date Made sure phone was up-to-date Reset network settings Reset all settings Deleted all messages in my phone (and emptied the trash) Turned on and off airplane mode Turned on and off most connections/network type settings Restarted my phone way too many times They told me I can come in-person today and get a new SIM card. I'm hoping that fixes it, however, I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem or has ideas? T-Mobile says my account looks fine and everything on their end looks fine. My phone is a Galaxy S21 and is only 1.5 years old, and I've been with T-Mobile for years.10KViews1like50ComentariosMessage Blocking activated but I can't undo it
When I try to send text messages to my son and/or his wife, I immediately receive the message that Message Blocking is active. But when I look at the list of phone numbers that I HAVE blocked from texts, phone or FaceTime, their numbers do not appear. This only occurred after I purchased the new iPhone13. Previous to that I have had no issue in sending texts to them. I am able to send texts to my other contacts. The only unique thing about my son and daughter-in-law is that their phone numbers are in area code 630 while their sisters are in area code 616.103KViews1like21Comentariossudden text/SMS problems on galaxy s22+
noticed at around 7pm CST last night, my phone started having problems sending text and SMS messages. hit send in the samsung messages app, and the little ‘sending’ pinwheel would just spin and spin. sometimes, after 5-10 mins, it would send. picture/multimedia messages are all still failing with a ‘network error occurred’ pop up. ive rebooted my phone several times. toggled airplane mode on and off several times toggled to 4g lte only network, and back ‘reset’ my mobile network settings nothing has helped so far. i can surf the internet on 5G, so i dont think its a data service issue (yet). seems limited to text and sms. tests seem to be sending better today, but still takes anywhere between 5-30 seconds for the pinwheel to stop and the message to be sent. sometimes ill get double or more copies of replies. any issues going on in the west minneapolis metro? edit: issues with texts have returned. just saw a pop up ‘ unable to send messages. they will be sent when the service [returns?]’ it flashed up and went away pretty quickly, so i wasnt able to recount the exact error message. 5 bars of 5G UC, but says (searching) in the upper left corner. tower issue perhaps? toggled airplane mode off and on again to force a mobile network reconnection, now says t mobile in the upper left corner of my screen. texts are taking 10-30secs to send again, but hey! at least they send, i guess.. getting pretty annoyed!41Visto0likes0Comentarios
